PNG: All eyes on nationals

A wide open competition is well in the offing in the Philippine National Games featuring the national athletes and hundreds of potential aspirants from different localities.

“This year’s PNG will bring out the best of the national athletes,” said Philippine Sports Commission chair Richie Garcia during the formal launching of the event’s third edition yesterday at the PSC athlete’s hall.

PSC orders national pugs to compete in PNG

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) will require the Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines field in its athletes in the Philippine National Games (PNG) on Friday, denying the Abap's request for exemption in the competitions.

PSC chairman Ritchie Garcia yesterday said all members of the national team are required to see action in the upcoming PNG since it serves as the national tryouts for national athletes to prove they deserve government support.

PNG a must for all Pinoy athletes

THE PHILIPPINE Sports Commission wants the top performers of the coming Philippine National Games (PNG), regardless of origin and affiliation, to be rewarded with a slot in the national pool.

“An athlete who showed enough promise by winning an event must be included in the pool,” said PSC chair Richie Garcia, adding that national sports associations (NSAs) won’t get their regular funding by ignoring the directive.
