PNG stalwarts up for inclusion in nat'l pool

MANILA, Philippines - Athletes who excelled in the recent Philippine National Games but are not yet members of the national pool may soon find themselves ranked among the country’s finest athletes.
In fact, the Philippine Sports Commission, which organized the recent PNG, is preparing a list of the young and promising athletes who deserve inclusion in the national pool.
SEA Games Federation on verge of a break up

The Philippines would leave the Southeast Asian Games unless the SEA Games Federation Council would revice the Games’ charter for the 2015 Games in Singapore.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Ritchie Garcia yesterday said leaving the SEA Games is now an option as the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) protested the supposed manipulation of the selection of events by host Myanmar for Naypyidaw Games on Dec. 11 to 22.
PSC putting athletes under microscope

MANILA, Philippines - The Filipino athletes who were placed under the priority list by the Philippine Sports Commission will first have to undergo a thorough medical checkup before they start receiving the full benefits from the government sports agency.
“We are now in the stage of requiring these athletes to undergo medicals before we make them sign anything. We need to find out if they are physically fit to be included in the program,” said PSC chairman Richie Garcia.
